While doing some research for another article i am writing on i came (once again) to review Iggy Pop and really got addicted to his stuff. He rocks so freaking much. What do you think? Igot some nice Iggy videos i found on you tube.
The first one is Lust for Life performed 1991 in Paris. It's a very characteristical performance where he freaks out with his pants dropped during the most part of the song.
The next one is a performance with the Stooges 1977 in Manchester. It's one of his early performances. It's funny when they carry him on stage and set him on his feet right in front of the mic so he can do his performance.
The last one is Iggy performing the cult song Louie Louie that has originaly been released by The Kingsmen. The song is credited to be one of the most important progenitor songs to modern punk rock. I don't know when this video was shot but i guess it was not so long ago because Iggy is looking real old on it. Nevertheless it's an awesome performance.
He sure is one of the greatest entertainers of all time and i can't think of anyone else who could be named "The Godfather of Punk", although he never achieved outstanding commercial success and many people don't know him.
However, if i get the chance to see him live in concert i'll sure go.
