Simple black dresses are the best way to go. Being Goth looks easy, after all you only need to wear all of your black clothing at the same time. Your style should be more towards fabrics in black or blood red that drape and flow across the body. Embellish with vintage fabrics, lace or fishnet stockings.

Select your makeup cautiously. Set off the pasty, pale complexion of a Goth by applying perfect kohl eyeliner abundantly. Use interesting looking eye makeup. To extend the look of your eye to the sides of your face, consider pointed looks, or thick circles. Add your personal flare to the basic style. Try layering black clothing, like putting a lacy shirt over a long sleeve tee, to give your wardrobe some variety. Just think of black leggings under a flowing skirt.
Pay no attention to those who deride you. The mainstream gang knows that you are out to rebelling and break yourself from them. At least for the time being, just tell yourself that their ideas and opinions are not so important. Your personality must be the mirror of the personal taste and nothing else.
Cultivate the right emotional state. Goths tend to have mellow and maudlin moods. Your style is not Goth if you prefer a happy and sparkly appearance. If you mention the rebellious depth and darkness of your teenage years, then the maudlin nature of the Goth should be easy for you to become and maintain.
Just wearing black and hanging out at a club does not make one a Goth. You can learn to embrace the lifestyle and wardrobe of a Goth if you follow these steps.
